NOTE: Prior to marrying Chester Balderston, Gertrude's cousin, through her mom, Catherine Julia Chugg, was married to Chester Balderston. 

Her cousin was Elizabeth Thompson Cooper. Elizabeth Thompson came from Michigan with her husband David. They had two daughters. in 1916 David died of the flu or TB. Their daughters, Helson and Florence were parceled out, probably for safety.  Elizabeth remarried to Chester Balderston. She had a third child, Keitha Baldwin.  ( now I am going to check on whether Elizabeth actually married a Baldwin instead of Chester Balderston. )    Elizabeth died shortly after giving birth. Obituary of Gertrude Chugg Balderston                         Daughter of Charles Robert Chugg and                         Catherine Julia Thompson Chugg The Mail Tribune Tuesday, February 25, 1975 Medford, Oregon, USA   Gertrude Balderston   Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Balderston, 79, of 5505 Pioneer Road, Medford, who died Monday, will be conducted at 1 pm Thursday at the Chapel in the Trees Mortuary in Siskiyou Memorial Park. The Rev. Lawrence Krause of the First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Siskiyou Memorial Park. Mrs. Balderston was born Oct 25, 1895 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She had been a resident of this community since 1935. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.   Survivors include two sons, Glenn Balderston, Coaldale, Alberta, Canada and Lewis C Balderston, Kent, Wash., four daughters, Mrs. Glenn Rouchleau and Mrs. Helen Kurz, both of Bloomington, California, Mrs. Catherine Brown, Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Dorothy Rogers, Medford; one sister, Mrs. Edith O'Conner, Ottawa, Ontario. Canada; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will include Arnold Rogers, Don Rogers, Bob Robertson, Alvin Lemings, Wayne Harbison and Max Goble. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Siskiyou Funeral directors of Chapel in the Trees Mortuary.
