Annies sister Katherine Julia Thompson was married to Charles Robert Chugg, Philip Elishas brother. They lived in Parkbeg, Saskatchewan until Charles died. Aunt Katie as she was called lived with her brother Edward Thomspon who farmed adjacent to Philip Elisha Chugg on the south side of Philips land.  Ebenezer Rogers Chugg farmed about 1 mile north of Philip. Eb had about 3 sections of land. Philip had about 3 sections of land, but son Dave was listed with one half section of the land.

Memories about Philip Elisha Chugg from Philles (Timmy) Chugg Proudfoot:

Yes I knew my grandfather but my grandmother passed away in January 1936 and I was born in December of that year. I was 17 when grammpa passed away and I was at his service in Fort MacLeod. He would come on the bus out to Black Diamond, always impeccably dressed, and very pleasant. When I was 10 I made him half cooked fried potatoes and greasy pork chops. I thought he was a very elegant looking man. Did not meet Ebenezer.

Return of Philip Chugg to MacLeod, Alberta from Clairmont, Alberta. His son, Philip Edgar Chugg, grandson Philip Elmer Chugg, greatgrandson Michael Philip Chugg and great great grandson Todd Donaldson all continued to work the same land east of Clairmont, Alberta from that time until 2006. The land in possession of Bob Donaldson and his wife, Leslie Anne Chugg (daughter of Philip Elmer Chugg) was sold in 2007.
Philip Edgar Chugg, my grandfather had a team of eight black horses. My father used to plow with them and harvest with them. Philip Elisha Chugg owned prize winning animals. This may be either my great grandfather's horses or my grandfather's horses. Photo sent by Timmie Proudfoot ( Philles Chugg daughter of Bill Chugg and granddaughter of Philip Elisha Chugg)

It is said that he was as thrifty as his brother. They say that he put his money in the bank in Alberta and lost it all  in the crash. Ebenezer put his money in land and lost nothing.  Great Grandpa Philip was known to visit his family in Alberta by hitching his big car up to his draft horses and have the horses pull the car to where he needed to go. They called this mode of transportation in the depression in Alberta, the Bennett buggy.

Note other lands such as Ebenezer and David Chugg's land, the De Maere's land, the Connolly land, the Thompson land and the Ellis land. These names haave been in the family for quite awhile.
